Wine lovers will be hard pressed to find a better event than the annual Bordeaux Fete le Vin, which takes place between June and July. The beautiful and historic French city hosts a fantastic celebration of its major export, with the four-day event attracting more than 300,000 visitors.
A procession of wine-making brotherhoods kick-starts the festival with wonderful historical costumes on display as they march to the Place de la Bourse. Many tasting courses are also available at the Bordeaux Wine Council for those wishing to sample the Aquitaine region’s vintages.
In addition, the team ’blind tasting’ event and the barrel-rolling contest are not to be missed! Visitors can take tours around the many vineyards, enjoy live music from a range of performers and taste the local cuisine before admiring a firework display as the festival comes to an end.
